CX500 perfect summer ride around

I’ve owned this bike for 7 years after purchasing from a professional mechanic who had customised this bike as a personal project.

It still looks great but could do with a little love as I have not had time to ride or care for it properly since having two kids.

There has only been 5 owners since 1980 and the most recent owner before me fully restored the engine and customised the bike himself, as a former moto GP mechanic he knew what he was doing.

Ive done very few miles since owning the bike, mostly commuting into central London (8 miles). However I have had a few longer trips, even riding all the way to Leeds and had no issues whatsoever.

It currently doesn’t start but this is just to do with the fact it’s been standing for a number of months so the carbs need to be flushed and the floats need some attention as it currently leaks fuel when you try to start it.

I’ve had this work priced at £300 and this will result in the bike starting perfectly and riding beautifully as it always has for me.

Other than the above, the only work required would be aesthetic rather than mechanical.

In short this bike would offer someone with time a cheap, fun and great looking summer ride!
To be honest I’m sad to see it go but I just don’t get time to ride any more.
