Overview

Classic Ural / Dnepr (marketed as Cossack in UK) flat twin customised to a very high standard. Lots of changes made and many original parts replaced with OEM parts so no part of the bike is untouched. I’ll try to list all the changes but compare this to a photo of the standard bike to understand how much has been changed to end up with this cool bar hopper – it’s all about the stance! Here goes…

Frame modified to remove whole of rear section with new single seat mounts and top mounts for shocks – powder-coated. cool look and huge weight saving too!
Custom-made shock mounts on swingarm
New, alternative rear shocks
New wheels built with polished stainless rims, new hubs and bearings
New brake parts, cables, rear pedal and actuator linkage
Custom-made, re-positioned foot-pegs in aluminium and brass
Custom leather seat
Custom-made electrical box
Electrics totally rewired with new battery – wiring routed in frame where possible to keep the clean look.
New front and rear custom lights – front light has a mount for ‘Beeline’ GPS speedo and satnav which is removable for recharging and theft prevention
Custom rear mudguard and mount that is sturdy enough not to need additional top mounts
New sportster-style tank, mounts and fuel lines with in-line fuel filter
New carbs REQUIRE FULL SET UP AS RUNNING A BIT RICH
Cool custom-built one-off generator cover on top of engine
Custom-made one-off air filter cover
New straight-thru exhaust style with mufflers and custom brass tips that mean it makes a nice noise without upsetting the locals
Cool handlebars with new throttle, levers, grips and cables
Polished top triple tree with new custom risers, handlebar mounts, steering damper and custom-made adjuster
Forks reconditioned and lowered 2 inches – for the stance!
Custom paintwork
Custom number plate mount
Some parts polished but not overdone.
Engine top-end rebuild with many new parts including rings, push-rod covers, seals, studs etc.
Electronic ignition
New ‘cush-drive’ rubber donut
Various custom-machined brass parts that add to the quality of work done on this bike.
You don’t see many customised ‘iron-curtain twins’ (engine design poached from BMW), particularly not to this standard or looking this cool. All work done by artisans. Take a look if you want something different from the today’s typical custom bike style. Lots of ‘before and after’ photos of the build. Bike is located in Tring, Hertfordshire. Thanks for looking
